Today, our assistant Lilith made a presentation about Valentine’s Day in the US. The Dragons then made their own cards. It was adorable! See for yourself!

Aujourd’hui, notre assitante Lilith a fait une présentation sur la Saint Valentin aux Etats-Unis. Les élèves de 6e ont ensuite fabriqué leur propre carte. C’était adorable ! Voyez par vous-mêmes !

You might have heard of it, February 11 was the Super Bowl.

The Super Bowl is the most significant sporting event of the year in the US. Millions of people gather to watch the game on television, and there are music and entertainment shows during breaks. The Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers claimed the title of NFL champions, the professional American football league. The KC Chiefs won.

We celebrated too! The Pheonixes organized a Super Bowl Party. Each group had a mission (menu planning committee, half time show production team, commercial creation team, game day logistics team, Super Bowl History and trivia team, fan engagement and decorations committee) and it was absolutely fabulous!

Vous en avez peut-être entendu parler: le 11 février, c’était le Super Bowl. Il s’agit de l’évènement sportif le plus important de l’année aux Etats-Unis. Des millions d’américains se rassemblent pour regarder le match à la télé, ainsi que le fameux concert de la mi-temps et les pubs. Les Kansas City Chiefs se sont imposés face aux San Francisco 49ers et ont remporté le titre de champions de la NFL (la league nationale de football américain).

Nous l’avons également célébré ! Les 5e ont organisé une fête pendant laquelle nous avons regardé une partie du match, de la mi-temps et des pubs. Chaque groupe avait une mission (menu, mi-temps, publicités, logistique, jeux et décorations). C’était absolument fabuleux !

Here’s another assignment I’m proud of. The Dragons had to write a postcard to their families as if they were traveling around the world, hosted by a family abroad.

Voici un autre travail dont je suis fière. Les 6e devaient écrire une carte postale à leur famille, comme s’ils étaient hébergés par une famille d’accueil à l’étranger en voyage.

The Dragons have been studying the First Nations of America. After discovering their History, Culture and Traditions, they did some research and presented different tribes and famous Indigenous People. Finally, they made dreamcatchers!

Les 6e ont étudié les Amérindiens. Après avoir découvert leur Histoire, Culture et Traditions, ils ont fait des recherches et ont présenté des tribus, puis des Indigènes célèbres. Enfin, ils ont fabriqué des attrape-rêves !

Mrs Bodin took us to City Hall today!

We had the chance to visit the building and meet with city council members of Vénissieux.

Aujourd’hui, Madame Bodin nous a emmenés à la mairie de Vénissieux, où nous avons eu la chance de rencontrer des membres du conseil municipal après avoir visité les lieux.

Alors que nous entamons cette nouvelle année, nous sommes extrêmement reconnaissants des moments magiques que nous partageons.

Dans l’idée d’embarquer pour de nouvelles aventures, nous sommes ravis de vous annoncer notre ambitieux projet: organiser un voyage aux Etats-Unis ! En effet, nous avons la forte volonté d’élargir les horizons de nos élèves et de les amener à vivre de nouvelles expériences inoubliables. Nous travaillerons sans relâche à la réalisation de ce rêve.

After studying fantasy movies, the Pheonixes presented the posters and synopsis of their own creations.

Après avoir étudié le cinéma fantastique, les élèves de 5e ont présenté les posters et synopsis de leur propre film imaginaire.

We joined the Plimoth Patuxet Museums’ award-winning education program. It was an engaging, interactive one-hour virtual workshop entitled « Colonial First Families ».

Here’s the description: Learn about early Plymouth Colony from an actual Pilgrim in your classroom! Our museum educator will use a real person’s life story to frame the one-hour program. Using reproduction artifacts to enhance your classroom’s experience, your visitor will share the Pilgrim story – from why they chose to leave England, the Mayflower journey, the first winter in New England, and the 1621 harvest feast known today as “the First Thanksgiving.”

This month, the Dragons (6e) explored Tim Burton’s magical worlds. The Pheonixes (5e) discovered witchcraft from Salem’s Trials to pop culture representations.

And, of course, we decorated our classroom!
